Minoo-All the World (Remixes)
Thursday, May 10th, 2012Mad-Hop is proud to present :
“Minoo – All The World (Remixes) ” Five tracks of remixes by producers from different parts of world.
Pixelord (Russia) Alexey Devyanin. He’s a Moscow-based veteran of experimental music, best-known for his Gultskra Artikler moniker. When we got to know that his new project is about BEATS, it was instantly clear that is has to be groundbreaking great. His debut four-track EP “Lucid Freaks” brings forth a mixture of spliffed-out 8bit riddims, stumbling Hip Hop beats and a pinch of Euro Dance glam. However unique, the weirdo plastic Pop of Glasgow’s Hudson Mohawke is echoed in his tunes as well as bass-driven digital Reggae, Jahtari-style.
Grillo (Italy) Born in a coastal town in Italy with a light skin tone Grillo found himself pretty much the only kid at the beach getting constantly sun burnt and scorched. These early recordings were a mix of old Italian folksingers, video game soundtracks and long religious sermons from grandma’s collection of C-90s. Today, in addition to regularly collaborating with local rap acts, left-field electronics projects and rogue indie movie crews Grillo crafts his own blend of music consisting of crusty beats, vintage samples, 8-bit bleeps and field recordings: sounds like recycled crap yet an original voice somehow emerges from it all.
Himuro Yoshiteru (Japan) An electronic producer and DJ from Japan.Himuro’s first album Nichiyobi was released in 1998 by the English record label Worm Interface, alongside artists like Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher) and Freeform. His releases are mostly within the electronic music genres of drum and bass, Electronica, Hip hop and Braindance, with a significant jazz influence .His style is often described in the media as very playful. It consists of finely chopped, fast rhythms in combination with jazzy bass and synthesizer lines and 8bit sounds (like video game music). In this area he is one of the prominent Japanese musicians of this time.
Tom Bednarczyk (Poland) Since 2004 he has been writing compositions presenting new pop qualities through his fragile sounds. Until then, he has recorded three albums for the world-recognized ambient labels such as 12k or Room40. In the second half of 2011 Tom Bednarczyk is back with new deep house material kept in chilly and minimal aesthetics. Also establishes its own record called We Are Your Music Mate, which focuses on the issue of house, deep or minimal music.
Oknai (Slovenia) Got his rep mostly from his chopped up Ableton live sets, often referred to as clip chop. His first EP Ain’t a Dream is a record of raw, lo-fi drums, sometimes dreamy other times aggressive synths, sampled fragments from all over the place and unique arrangements all tucked someplace between glitchop, hiphop, IDM and the other…
The artists have prepared an excellent travel through the land of sounds. each remix is representing their variety of styles and showing off their skills. get ready fore more! this free release is promoting the up coming album on vinyl, which will be Mad-Hop´s first physical release! the album will feature some interesting artists and collaborations exploring the wide and joyful field of experimental hiphop. we hope you will enjoy this fine release, which is available for free.

Citymouth – Holodecker EP
Monday, April 4th, 2011
This is a free release by Citymouth, one of Dropping Gems finest resident as they say. He is releasing those tracks in addition to his forthcoming full-lenght album, to give away something fresh and brand new piece of his mind. And for just a 7 silver coins you get a limited edition c20 of the EP with artwork including a cassette only remix from Brownbear and a Dropping Gems sticker. Wooo!! One thing is certain, after we heard this treat, we sure hope this album will be out soon! Cuz dis is dope!!
The Holodecker EP represents an early sampling of the current satellite-relay transmissions we believe to be authored by reclusive beat-futurist Citymouth. Held within these 5 tracks are the ancestral memories of wars fought between robo-tribes (“Fingercrampz,” “Planetsquat”), miracles beheld between bulkheads (“Sepakulive”), love baked between transistors (“Holodecker”), and docking procedures choreographed between ships which have long since dissolved into the endless rings of space debris that encircle our planet (“Nimbusfloor”). The pace alternates between frenetic and contemplative, depending on which chemicals your spacesuit nutria-tube is currently feeding you. You try to turn the knob but it’s covered in grime. You expect to hear ticking but instead perceive beeping. You’re blazed in the habitat ring. You vaporize as Earth becomes a distant memory inscribed in grease upon the plate-metal wallpaper. Five tracks later you reassemble, subtly altered, and try to decide whether you’ll press rewind.
